DTC is a non-denominational, evangelical Christian college based in Harare, Zimbabwe. It was established through a registered Trust Deed in 1991. Its purpose was to meet the demand for a uniquely Zimbabwean style of theological education at the university level, which would provide practical ministry training.
Our students and staff come from different denominations, but all share a common belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; and the Bible as our authority for faith and life. We might answer the question of who we are by saying we are a non-denominational, evangelical Christian College.
- Non-denominational – we come from many different churches and denominations.
- Evangelical – we believe in the Bible as our supreme authority for faith and life and in Jesus Christ as the only source of salvation.
- Christian – we have committed followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
- College – we have a primary purpose of training, both academically and professionally
DTC is, therefore, an indigenous institution created by Zimbabweans to develop Christian leaders for Zimbabwe and beyond. Today it has a dynamic Principal, Rev Dr Roy Musasiwa, who has been with the college since the commencement of its teaching programme in 1992.
